Am I Eligible

MCSD is excited to offer parents and guardians of rising 6th through 12th-grade students the opportunity to apply to Lighthouse Virtual Academy for the 2026-2027 school year!

While Lighthouse Virtual Academy provides a dynamic and flexible learning environment, it may not be the right fit for every student. Parents are encouraged to carefully review the information on this website and thoughtfully consider whether LVA is the best environment for their child’s success.

If your student has not experienced success in a virtual learning option before, we strongly recommend reviewing both the Checklist for a Successful Virtual Learner and the resources on this site before making your final decision. If you answered “false” to any items on the checklist, virtual learning may not be the best fit for your student at this time.

Students interested in enrolling must meet the following criteria:

• Attain a 70% or higher in all classes attempted during the 2025-2026 school year.

• Be on grade level in both Reading and Math (determined by STAR scores or an equivalent assessment).

• Have no discipline incidents resulting in suspension or expulsion during the 2025-2026 school year.
